Adaptive Levels, Layers, & Outputs Flexible Learning Options for Whole-Student Education

From source to student-ready resource

Keep the science. Change the support.

Keep the original water-cycle passage available. Add a focused glossary, an optional adapted companion, and more than one way to explain an idea.

Illustrative example: these samples were prepared for this page. They are not a live AI result, a reading-level assessment, or a record of a real student.

1 · Bring a source

A shared learning goal

Explain how the Sun helps water move through evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection.

Sample source passage

Energy from the Sun warms water in lakes and oceans. During evaporation, liquid water changes into water vapor, a gas. As moist air cools, water vapor can condense into tiny liquid droplets that form clouds. When droplets grow large enough, they fall as rain, a form of precipitation. Water collects in lakes, rivers, and oceans, where it can evaporate again. This describes one possible path through the water cycle.

Download sample text (.txt)

To try it: paste this source into AlloFlow and choose Read original with supports. Opening the original needs no AI call; generated word explanations and adapted companions use your selected AI setup.

2 · Choose a support

Explore three sample resources

Optional adapted companion: shorter sentences

The Sun warms water in lakes and oceans. Some liquid water becomes water vapor, a gas. This is evaporation. Moist air can cool. Water vapor can then become tiny liquid drops. This is condensation. The drops form clouds. When drops grow large enough, they fall as rain. Rain is one kind of precipitation. Water gathers in lakes, rivers, and oceans. This is collection. It can evaporate again. Water can follow other paths, too.

Teacher decision: use this as a supplement to the original passage. Keep the scientific vocabulary and the idea of a cycle, and check whether shorter sentences help the learners; no grade-level match is assumed.

A small glossary with familiar examples
Evaporation
Liquid water changes into water vapor. Example: a puddle gets smaller as water evaporates.
Condensation
Water vapor changes into liquid water. Example: drops form on the outside of a cold glass.
Precipitation
Water falls from clouds, for example as rain or snow.
Collection
Water gathers in places such as lakes, rivers, and oceans.

Teacher decision: preview the terms needed for this lesson. Explain that the drops on a cold glass come from water vapor in the surrounding air.

One exit ticket, different response options

Prompt: How does the Sun help water move through the water cycle? Use the words evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection. Explain one possible path.

Response options: write a short explanation, explain aloud, or label a diagram and describe the connections using an established communication method.

Teacher decision: apply the same science criteria to each response. Check the Sun's role, changes between liquid and gas, and connections between stages. Do not score handwriting or speaking fluency as science understanding.

3 · Review before sharing

The teacher makes the final call.

Compare each resource with the source, check the science, and try the support in the learner's actual reading or response workflow.

The "Why" Behind AlloFlow

AI-generated audio overview

Equity First

Local-First Architecture

AlloFlow is built around a local-first app shell. While AI generation usually requires a provider connection, exported project and HTML bundles can preserve many study resources for offline or low-connectivity use after the materials are created.

🌐 Online: AI Generation
Generating new worlds, quizzes, or rewritten text uses the selected AI provider. Cloud providers need a network connection; local models need a configured runtime.
⚡ Offline: Interactive Play
After assets are loaded, many STEM, game, Word Sounds, and Immersive Reader interactions can run locally in the browser. Cloud AI generation and hosted-session features remain network-dependent.
📥 The Bridge: HTML Bundles
Supported resources can be exported as HTML for offline use. Open the exported file on the student device and test the activities; external media, AI generation, and connected features may still need a network.
Local Prepared resources for offline practice

Differentiation

Adapted Reading Drafts

Create an adapted companion when it helps learners approach the original. It is supplemental by default. Compare Original / Adapted / Both, then check vocabulary, meaning, and learner fit before sharing.

🔬 Sentence and Vocabulary Support
Generation can shorten sentences and explain vocabulary. Compare the draft with the source to check that important relationships and nuance remain intact.
🧵 Golden Thread Preservation
Generation instructions aim to preserve the core narrative, characters, and key vocabulary across versions. Review each reading against the source before using it in a shared class discussion.
📚 Dolch Word DB Integration
Lower-level generation can draw on Dolch high-frequency vocabulary. Check the result against the words and decoding patterns your learners have been taught; sight-word support is not a decodability guarantee.

Multi-Modal Workflows

6+ output formats from one standard

One size never fits all. AlloFlow uses structured content representations so source material can be reviewed and rendered into different UIs, gamified adventures, interactive quizzes, printable worksheets, and more.

Deterministic HTML Generation
AI outputs are rigorously mapped into predictable data structures, allowing a Puzzle Challenge and a 3D Dice Adventure to stem from the exact same mathematical standard.
Zero-Code Authoring
Teachers toggle modes in a visual UI, no HTML, CSS, or JavaScript knowledge required. The engine handles all rendering automatically.
📋 Live Preview Dashboard
Teachers see a real-time preview of each modality before distributing to students, 3D Adventure, Puzzle Challenge, Quiz, Comic, or Worksheet, all rendered from the same source data.

FERPA-Aligned Data Paths

Privacy-Minimizing Architecture

0 student PII required by default

AlloFlow is designed to minimize student data collection and keep ordinary work in the browser, downloaded files, Desktop runtime, or school-controlled infrastructure when those paths are selected. Cloud AI, hosted live-session paths, provider terms, and retention settings remain deployment-dependent; districts should review their contracts and configuration.

Local Context Compression
Local workspace paths can retain progress data in browser or device storage, with compression used for some records. Connected sessions, exports, and providers have separate destinations and access rules.
FERPA/COPPA Support Depends on Deployment
AlloFlow can support FERPA-aligned school-controlled deployments, but final compliance depends on district configuration, contracts, retention policy, and actual classroom use.
🔐 Minimized Data Exposure
Local-first paths can keep work on teacher devices or school-controlled infrastructure. Cloud and hosted paths may involve provider or server processing, so districts should review deployment boundaries, contracts, and retention settings.

Simple, Transparent Access

AlloFlow has no software license fee and is open source. The web Gemini Canvas path may require an eligible Google account; Desktop and local-provider paths can run without one.

Keyless web path

Gemini Canvas

No AlloFlow license fee. Google controls account eligibility, availability, quotas, and plan terms; school accounts may require administrator enablement.

Recommended local-first path

AlloFlow Desktop

No AlloFlow license fee. Local models avoid cloud API charges; hardware, electricity, support, and any optional cloud provider remain your responsibility.

School-controlled deployment

Hosted or School Box

No AlloFlow license fee. Budget separately for hosting or hardware, security operations, support, and usage-based AI services.

Compare Deployment Paths

Gemini availability and limits can change. Verify current details in the official Gemini limits guide and Google AI plan page.

Disclaimer: AlloFlow is an independent open-source project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google.

Data Privacy & Architecture

AlloFlow is designed with security in mind, putting control in the hands of educators.

File-Based Persistence

Use Save Project to keep a JSON copy you can reopen or share. Available recovery and storage depend on the workspace and device profile; clearing browser data or resetting a device can remove local work. Read the saving and recovery guide.

Google Education Infrastructure

The Gemini Canvas path uses the Gemini access available to your Google account. Your district should verify which services and features its Google Workspace for Education agreements cover, along with account settings, data handling, and retention. Opening AlloFlow inside Canvas does not itself establish approval for student data. Compare data paths and setup requirements.

Local-First Student Data

Student progress, XP, quiz scores, and session data can stay on-device in local-first paths. Cloud, hosted-session, and provider-backed paths vary by deployment. Teachers can export data as JSON files for record-keeping. The Student Portal uses generated codenames to reduce the need for real names. Codenames do not make linked work or session records anonymous.
